Muskrat: ( definition) (Ondatra zibethicus), is a medium-sized semiaquatic rodent native to North America, is found in wetlands over a wide range of climates and habitats. Muskrats spend much of their time in the water and are well suited for their semiaquatic life. They are found over most of Canada and the United States and a small part of northern Mexico.
